Walk Length: 4.5 Miles / 7.25 Km
Directions
This is 4.5-mile walk, starting from the village church; it goes along a footpath beside a river for just over 1.5 miles, then along a country road before returning on another footpath; with overhanging trees forming an arch – again, for just over 1.5 miles.
Please remember to take nothing but memories and photographs, leaving nothing but footprints and follow the footpath signs.

01. Leave the churchyard and turn left, along The Street until you reach a T-junction with a coffee shop in front of you. Turn right and walk along Mill Road, using the pavement, until you come to the end of the houses, and look for a footpath fingerboard on your left. Cross the road with care and join the footpath through a gap in the hedge.
02. Follow this footpath for the next 1.5 miles in a southerly direction. Initially, keep the wire fence on your left and ignore the footpath to your right. Climb over two stiles close together and walk beside a stream, over a plank bridge, across a field, then another plank bridge until you reach a bridge on your left with red upright posts, which carries a farm track and footpath.
03. Turn right onto this footpath. Turn left when you reach the next field, walking with a hedge on your left. Cross over a series of stiles, plank bridges and fields to reach Steppings Lane through a gap in a hedge.
04. Turn left and follow the road for the next half mile, around a left-hand bend, until you reach a footpath on your right. Turn right to walk along this footpath with the hedge on your right, until you reach a hedge in front with another footpath crossing this one.
05. Turn left onto this footpath and head in a northerly direction for around 1.5 miles. This footpath becomes a track, crosses over Lundy Green and continues with trees forming a tunnel, before opening up to views of Hempnall and its church in the distance before you reach Bungay Road through another tunnel in the trees.
06. Take care crossing over Bungay Road, turn left and head back to the junction with the coffee shop, then retrace your steps to the church and the start of the walk.
