Local students volunteer in Honduras and Peru

Before taking up their university places, current Culford School Upper Sixth students, Sophie Jamil and Eve Holder, are spending 12 months volunteering with the charity, Project Trust.

Starting this August, Sophie will be helping disadvantaged children by teaching English in a primary school in Honduras. Meanwhile, Eve will be providing social care in an orphanage in Peru.

After a rigorous selection process, they have been tasked to raise the money required to support them as they volunteer throughout the year. Both girls have been busy raising funds in many ways, alongside their A level studies – for example, Eve recently did a sponsored skydive and Sophie has been re-selling donated goods online.
