My Wasted Years
My Wasted Years, 1940-1945
Paperback, with black-and-white photographs
Arthur Brough is something of a Jarrolds institution: a frequent visitor to the London Street store, Arthur is happy to share tales of his World War II exploits with fellow café diners, to the point where many of them feel the need to buy this little wartime memoir of Arthur’s time in the Royal Norfolk Regiment, much of it spent incarcerated in German prisoner of war camps. First published in 1994, the book has gone through several new editions and reprints and the latest has a postscript “fifty-five years on” from the events originally described.
