First Light Festival
There’s nowhere more appropriate to mark the start of summer, and festival season, than First Light Festival. Taking place on Lowestoft’s South Beach – the most easterly point in the UK – on 20-21 June, the multi arts festival will mark being the first place in the UK to see the sunrise and mark the summer solstice with a celebration of music, culture and arts.
The festival celebrates the UK’s first sunrise of the summer. Now in its sixth year, the first highlights have just been confirmed with sets from Jamz Supernova, Seth Lakeman, Jason Singh and Simon Day, alongside a new music co-commission and dawn celebration. With the full line-up to be revealed in March, the festival will bring together music, culture, wellbeing and family-friendly activity across the beachfront weekend: a great way to welcome the longest day of the year and the first day of summer.
First Light is free and unticketed, with the exception of certain events on Saturday night once the free beach programme finishes at 9.30pm.
