Sovereign, Squire and Rebel: The Story of Maharajah Duleep Singh by Peter Bance, Maharajah Duleep Singh author & historian

A highly illustrative talk on the life of Maharajah Duleep Singh, the last ruler of the Sikh Kingdom, a favourite of Queen Victoria, owner of the famed Kohinoor Diamond, and a Norfolk Country Squire. The presentation by Peter Bance captures the flamboyant and at times tragic life of this Indian Prince accompanied by rich visuals including paintings and Victorian photography from his collection, with a biography on the Maharajah’s children including his ‘Norfolk Antiquarian’ Prince Frederick and ‘fanatical suffragette’ daughter Princess Sophia.
