Classic Cars and Open Gardens
Historic vehicles will be among several high spots of a rather special weekend for the picturesque village of Gissing.
Visitors will also be able to enjoy a wander round some attractive and very varied gardens, about 10 of which will be open.
The cutting garden of a professional florist and flower grower will be open to visitors who will have the opportunity to admire the community orchard and see the work being done by local volunteers to restore a small area of common land. Adding still further to the interest of a walk round the village will be wheelbarrows specially planted for the occasion.
Tickets for the Open Gardens event are £5, with children going free. A guide to where the gardens are located will be available from the Community Building where there will also be craft and plant stalls and where refreshments, including a BBQ and picnic lunches, can be purchased. Picnic lunches must be booked in advance and will cost £6 each.
