Daytime Silent Disco with Sue Lambert Trust
On Saturday 2nd August, Norfolk charity Sue Lambert Trust will host a daytime disco event inside an inflatable disco dome. This family-friendly fundraiser takes place outside The Forum, from 10am to 3pm. Each hour throughout the day will feature a different genre of music.
As well as the silent discos, Sue Lambert Trust is planning a silent auction and people can challenge themselves to stay silent for 24 hours too. Raising funds in this way will help the Norfolk charity to provide therapy and counselling for people, when they are ready to speak out.
This new daytime disco event will be very different to a typical disco. Instead of loudspeakers, everyone will be given a pair of wireless headphones, with different music sets played out through the headsets on transmitters. It means everyone attending can choose which setlist they want to listen and dance to. The daytime disco will feature lots of different types of music to select on personal headsets, from dance classics to afro-pop to salsa.
Sue Lambert Trust is Norfolkâs leading charity supporting people who have experienced sexual violence or sexual abuse. It provides access to specialist support via its team of professional quality counsellors who deliver 12 months of one-to-one therapeutic support for each client, at no cost to the individual. This counselling enables people to work through their trauma and begin to heal, offering that lifeline of support to almost 600 people in Norfolk last year.
