Waveney Valley Folk Collective are delighted to present this ‘double header’ featuring Kirsty Merryn and Jack Harris, two of the UK’s finest young folk musicians.
Singer-songwriter Kirsty Merryn tells stories of boxing champions, forgotten heroines and frozen winters. She has become a regular on London’s folk scene, delighting the crowds with her delicately introspective piano based songs and sophisticated musical style. She comes to us in the midst of a tour with Show of Hands.
Jack is a multi-award winning singer-songwriter and poet, most notably winning the 2005 New Folk Songwriting Competition at Kerrville Folk Festival in Texas, the first non-American to do so. Jack writes literate, compassionate songs. His new album, ‘The Wide Afternoon’, produced by Gerry Diver (Sam Lee, Lisa Knapp, Tom Robinson) gathers 11 new songs and sets them to a moody, expansive soundscape.
