Farming in the Past – How the Land was worked by our forebears in East Anglia
Philip West’s illustrated talk will centre on changes in farming in North Norfolk prior to and after mechanisation. General farming processes including soil preparation, harvesting of crops and in the case of grain: milling, malting and export from North Norfolk ports. He draws on personal experiences as a holgee boy growing up in a farming community of his home village of Hindringham in the 50’s and 60’s. Members £3, non members £5, pay at the door, all welcome.
